What the Carson Wentz Trade means for Jameis Winston

The Eagles traded Carson Wentz to the Colts earlier today, which means only a few teams are looking at Winston.

It was rumored that the Colts, Bears, and Patriots were going to have interest in the free agent quarterback this offseason.

Now that the Colts are out of the picture, what does that mean for Jameis Winston? Will it affect how much he gets paid?

The Saints have made it clear they want Winston back, and if there is anything we’ve learned from Sean Payton during the offseason it’s that he tells us what exactly he wants to do and then does it.

With yet another quarterback off the market however Winstons price and value could potentially rise, but not by much. It seems he wants to stay in New Orleans as well after sharing what Drew and him talked about at the NFC Divisional round.

The NFLPA cap floor was also raised to a minimum of $180 million and could end up being $188 million which would save the Saints $5-$8 million. This raise in cap could potentially be what goes towards the Saints resigning Winston.
