No practice for Alvin Kamara, Odell watch, and other news

Big news for the Saints Wednesday as star running back and the best receiver on the team in Alvin Kamara didn’t partake in practice Wednesday. He appears to have suffered a knee sprain after taking an awkward hit Sunday vs the Falcons in the second half.

Odell is still on watch and the Saints are still in the running to land him on the roster, just a matter of time until Odell makes a decision. It seems that the decision will take a few days according to Kim Jones and Ian Rapoport.

Saints news

Linebacker Chase Hansen cleared waivers, a possible practice squad guy for the Saints after just releasing him.

Ken Crawley and Lil’Jordan Humphrey were activated off the Covid reserve list.

Ken Crawley remains on injured reserve.

Odell watch

The Saints continue to be in the mix for Odell Beckham Jr. as he’s still looking for a new team to call home.

There were reports that Sean Payton has been making pitches to Odell about his vision for him in the future. That vision could include just the 2021, but possibly future seasons as well. The Saints are believed to have made a one year offer with multiple good years to spread out the cap hit with hopes that Odell resigns with them in the offseason.

Other teams to have been in contact with Odell include Patriots, Packers, Chiefs, Seahawks.

The Packers offered him a deal with a league veteran minimum.

The Patriots are also being aggrieved to get Odell and are going all in.

Right now the Saints have Sean Payton, scheming, and Louisiana being where Odell is from going for them. One iffy thing is possibly the quarterback, but Sean can scheme open plays for Odell, plus Siemian didn’t look bad along with Taysom Hill depending on who plays.

Other news

The Bucs signed tight end Darren Fells, who was possibly someone to watch for the Saints.

Josh Reynolds was claimed by the Lions off waivers.
