Saints Training Camp Day 19 Notes

Attendance: 

  • Wil Lutz, Tre’Quan Smith, Alvin Kamara, Chris Hogan, Malcolm Roach, and Payton Turner were not at practice 
  • Alex Armah returned to practice 
  • Kamara and Lattimore were dressed out but not participating, conserving them 

Updates:

  • Trevor Siemian will be the third quarterback to play Monday vs Jags
  • Book will maybe get playing time if there is time to get a fourth quarterback in 

Notes:

  • Both quarterbacks had very solid days and the competition seems to be getting more intense 
  • Jameis took first team reps
  • Andrew Dowell had a STAND OUT day at linebacker along with some big hits
  • New kicker Alrdick Rosas missed some field goal attempts 8/10, missed form 36 and 50
  • Ken Crawley is playing with confidence which is a big role in his recent camp success 
  • Crawley and Adebo were starting corners
  • Tony Jones scored three times, rushing touchdowns with Winston and Book, receiving touchdown from Hill 

Plays:

  • Winston hit Deonte Harris for a 40 yard play
  • Nick Vannett had a back shoulder touchdown catch in the red zone from Taysom Hill
  • Winston threw a touchdown to Callaway during red zone drills 
  • Callaway had a one handed catch over the middle
  • Winston had a touchdown pass to Callaway during red zone drills with Adebo in coverage
  • Baun had a tackle for loss on Jones Jr. during Hill’s reps during team drills
  • Chauncey Gardner Johnson and Baun blew up Latavius Murray on a run play
  • P.J. Williams hit Devonta Freeman hard
