The Saints play the Jags Monday in the Caesars Superdome for preseason game two at 7:00pm CT. Here’s a guide that will go over where/how to watch the game, quarterback rotations, who will likely not play and a lot more information you need to know prior to the game.
How/Where to watch the game:
If you’re in the local Louisiana area the game should be on ESPN (WDSU 6 for locals), and WWL-870 AM and 105.3 FM for radio listeners. If you can’t watch the game on television and you rather not listen to the radio, links to live streams will be sent to this Saints group chat: https://relevnt.app/vibe/44763
Quarterback Rotation:
Sean Payton announced that Jameis Winston will start Monday against the Jaguars as Taysom Hill started last week vs the Ravens. The rotation will be similar, likely 20 plays for Winston, 20 plays for Hill, and the whole second half will belong to Trevor Siemian with a possibility of Ian Book playing if there’s time.
Whose Out:
There is no set injury report but based on the recent training camp attendance Tre’Quan Smith and Payton Turner are almost definitely out and Pete Werner is likely out too due to the recent no contact.
Who will play:
Sean Payton mentioned that some guys who didn’t play last week will get some playing time vs Jacksonville. Possibly guys like Lattimore, Cam Jordan and other starters are expected to play.
Uniforms:
Saints will wear white jerseys over gold pants with black socks.
Players to watch:
- Kevin White
- Eric Burrell
- Aldrick Rosas
- Bryce Thompson
- Andrew Dowell
- Wynton McManis
Things to keep an eye on:
- Quarterback decisions, situational awareness, and how comfortable they look
- Can the Saints go without a turnover
- The gunner position opposite of J.T. Gray
- Offensive line depth and how they perform
- The interior defensive line
- Punter battle
- Can the receivers make plays in tight coverage and create separation
