On a Sunday where the Saints were practicing and preparing for their game Thursday for the Cowboys, the Saints got some positive news and are starting to get healthy again. Also, they got some help from some teams around the league to help their wildcard hopes moving forward through the season.
First thing, there is no official injury report until Monday. Based off of the reports seen today here is what the injury report would’ve looked like.
DNP/wasn’t spotted:
Terron Armstead (knee/shoulder?) , Marcus Davenport (shoulder), Tanoh Kpassagnon (ankle), Kaden Elliss (hamstring), Caleb Benenoch (?)
LP/participating:
Alvin Kamara (knee), Mark Ingram (knee), Ryan Ramczyk (knee)
FP/practicing:
Taysom Hill (foot), Paulson Adebo (head)
There was no Cowboys report to go over as their practice schedule was shifted due to Covid protocols. However Ezekiel Elliot is expected to not play and rest the game out, while CeeDee Lamb is expected to return from his concussion and play Thursday.
Now the Saints got some help today from the Giants, Dolphins, Packers and 49ers. With the Giants win over the Eagles the Saints stay ahead by a game and the Panthers loss keeps them behind the Saints. The Bucs beat the Colts and will play the Falcons next week, a Bucs win helps the Saints there. The Jags couldn’t come through and beat the Falcons and now they have half a game lead on the Saints. The 49ers and Packers win sends the Vikings and Rams down the seeding. The Saints currently hold the 9th seed behind the Falcons (5-6), Vikings (5-6), 49ers (6-5), and Rams (7-4).
With some help and a few wins the Saints can once again control their destiny.
