Saints Training Camp Day 10 Notes

Attendance: 

  • No Tre’Quan Smith (wrist), Patrick Robinson, or KeiVarae Russell 

Updates:

  • Sean Payton doesn’t have a timeline for Wil Lutz injury (core muscle sprain)
  • Wil Lutz will stay on the 90 man roster for now but his injury will be evaluated down the road
  • Sean Payton on Michael Thomas’ tweet “I don’t want to have a press conference based on social media.”

Notes:

  • Winston looked strong today taking reps with the ones, great red zone offense 
  • Juwan Johnson had a standout day, had a few drops but can back strong, definitely a red zone threat guy they wanna use
  • Jalen McCleskey took reps with the first team offense and Andrew Dowell took reps with Demario Davis 
  • Marcus Davenport continues to impress and blew up the line today 
  • Duece Wallace had a standout day
  • Ian Book had a strong day 
  • Marquez Callaway continues to be a standout player 
  • Tony Jones had a great day 

Observations:

  • Payton Turner and Davenport were rotating at defensive end 

Plays:

  • Davenport had at least one sack and ran the qb out of bounds on another play
  • Winston threw a touchdown to Callaway on a quick comeback in front of Marshon Lattimore 
  • Duece Walce had an int on Book, a pass deflection on Taysom in the redzone, and a pretty impressive special teams block
  • Bryce Thompson picked off Taysom Hill on an underthrown ball to Tommylee Lewis 
  • Tony Jones has two rushing touchdowns 
  • Alvin Kamara did Alvin Kamara like things and ran a ten yard touchdown and went untouched 
  • Winston also had a nice touchdown to Deonte Harris on a skinny post 
  • Ian Book had two touchdowns to Juwan Johnson
