As “training camp” approaches and the offseason meetings and interviews continue to go on there is a lot of information to grasp. This is simply an easy way to access some of these quotes, news, and other important events from the past few days and the future.

Updates:

  • Veteran cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick visited with the Saints Tuesday 
  • The visit reportedly went very well but no deal was done, Kirkpatrick also has interest from another team. 
  • The Saints restructured Marshon Lattimore’s $10.2M fifth year option and converted it into a $990K base salary to sign the 2021 rookie class. 
  • The Saints now have room to sign a few players at the rig price.
  • Linebacker Zack Baun will compete at Will linebacker, he played Sam linebacker his rookie year.
  • Deonte Harris had some surgery and had to start this offseason from square one.
  • Deonte Harris mentioned that he won’t change his number to #1 and that he’s sticking to #11. 
  • Sean Payton mentioned the team has 100% attendance for minicamp. 
  • Ruiz is focused on staying at guard.
  • Marcus Davenport is focusing on his mental state of mind and not thinking about numbers too much.
  • Lattimore views himself as the best cornerback in the league and has confidence in himself.
  • CGJ mentioned Patrick Robinson a few times when talking about the CB2 shoes to fill. 
  • Winston and Hill both stepping up in the leadership role.
  • Winston paid for Tre’Quan Smith’s plane ticket to workout in the offseason. 
  • Trautman was training in California for about 10 weeks and then linked up with Winston for some throwing sessions. 
  • Jamies and Tre’Quan working on a deep downfield connection. They want to stretch the ball downfield. Jameis told Tre’Quan “Don’t stop running”. 
  • Pete Werner is focusing on learning the Will linebacker position.
  • Paulson Adebo is learning both nickel and outside corner. 
  • The cap space is standing at $5.9 million after the Marshon Lattimore restructure.
  • Payton Turner contract details: 4 years, $12.524 million guaranteed with a $6.468 million signing bonus.
