News on Michael Thomas, Mark Ingram and Saints news and updates from Thursday

Pretty decent news day for the Saints with some transactions and practice updates. There still is no word as to what the Saints traded to the Texans for Mark Ingram, but as to how the Saints came about trading for Mark Ingram is written down below.

How the Mark Ingram trade came about; an update on his game status

Going into the Seattle game Sean Payton had mentioned it to Mickey Loomis and both agreed that it was worth calling about. Once they called and poked around, momentum began to roll and it worked out. Sean Payton was skeptical about the trade happening because of his role in the Texans offense. They eventually figured it out and now Ingram is a New Orlean Saint.

Payton said after the Seattle game that Alvin Kamara mentioned a trade for Mark Ingram as a possibility as the deal was already in motion. He mentioned that Alvin Kamara is like Mark Ingram’s little partner in crime. If there’s one thing for sure, it’s that Alvin Kamara loves Mark Ingram.

Ingram’s flight arrived today and will practice tomorrow with the team. Payton is positive that Ingram will play Sunday against Tampa Bay.

An update on Andrus Peat

Peat suffered a pectoral injury Monday night against the Seahawks. He got an MRI and has a torn pectoral and will have surgery on it tomorrow according to Nick Underhill. Another injury and the offensive line lost a starter, but Calvin Throckmorton is up to the task. Whether you like Peat or not you gotta hope for a speedy recovery.

Michael Thomas Update

The long awaited return of Michael Thomas might need to wait another week as he wasn’t spotted during the open portion of practice today by the media. There was a report on Michael Thomas by Nick Underhill that he saw a specialist around October 12th and that he would need a little more time. Still waiting to get back to full 100% health and put the whole ankle injury behind him.

Transactions

The Saints signed defensive tackle Albert Huggins to the practice squad.

Offensive lineman Will Clapp was signed to the practice squad.

Ryquell Armstead and Lakiem Williams were released from the practice squad.
