Saints News from Wednesday 10/21

Reports

The Saints were reported to be one of a few teams to inquire about Colts running back Marlon Mack. With the injury of Tony Jones Jr. the Saints haven’t been able to find a second running back, they’ve signed Devine Ozigbo, Ryquell Armstead to the practice squad along with Lamar Miller. Mack would be a good one-two punch with Alvin Kamara and would fit the Saints offense.

Injury Report

DNP: Deonte Harris (hamstring), Taysom Hill (concussion), Dwayne Washington (neck), Chris Hogan (personal matter), DT Malcom Roach (illness)

LP: Terron Armstead (elbow), Erik McCoy (calf)

FP: Marshon Lattimore (hand)

*guys like Crawley, Lutz, Hansen, Davenport, Kwon, Vannett, and Smith don’t show up on the injury report since they aren’t on the active roster. They are designated to practice practice but not yet on the active roster.

Here’s the Seahawks injury report:

Injury Updates

After dealing with injuries all season, the Saints are getting some guys back. The following guys have been designated to return from injured reserve:

LB, Kwon Alexander, DE Marcus Davenport, K Wil Lutz, WR, Tre’Quan Smith, LB Chase Hansen, CB Ken Crawley, TE Nick Vannett

The Saints have 21 days to activate these guys to the roster otherwise they’ll miss the rest of the season. The Saints can activate them to the roster then place them on the practice squad, they just need to be activated within the next 21 days.

When/if the Saints activate these guys to the roster they’ll have to waive/release/trade/place on the practice squad at least the same amount of guys activated to make room for these moves.

With all these guys practicing again that leaves Tony Jones as the only current player on the Saints injured reserve and Michael Thomas on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
