Saints Training Camp Day 13 Notes

Attendance: 

  • No Tre’Quan Smith (wrist), Jalen McCleskey (hamstring), Pete Werner (leg), Malcolm Jenkins (likely Veteran rest day), KeiVarae Russell, Alvin Kamara (rest day likely), Marcus Williams, Adonis Alexander (spotted later, not in pads), Quentin Poling, and Payton Turner
  • Ty Montgomery and Malcolm Roach were back after leaving yesterday’s practice early 
  • Tommylee Lewis left early with the trainer 
  • Adonis Alexander was spotted later on in practice doing some non padded work
  • Marcus Williams was spotted later on during practice as well

Updates:

  • Practice was moved from indoors to outside 
  • Jalen McCleskey was placed on injured reserve 
  • Saints signed defensive lineman R.J. McIntosh off of waivers from the Giants
  • Werner and Turners injuries won’t be long term according to Sean Payton 
  • Taysom and Winston will both play Saturday and then will flip on the next preseason game

Notes:

  • Kicker Brett Maher went 4/6 (missed from 42 and 46, longest made was 44)
  • Andrew Dowell got reps with first team and Demario 
  • Latavius Murray got slammed into the ground on two occasions, one by Davis and one by Ellis
  • Taysom got reps with the ones
  • Jameis went 3/3 in red zone drills with a td to Lil’Jordan Humphrey, Taysom went 2/3
  • Paulson Adebo continues to get better every day, almost had another pick
  • Jalen Dalton, Ken Crawley, Bryce Thompson, and J.T. Gray all got reps with the ones
  • First team offense didn’t do two minute offense (led by Taysom Hill), second team offense did two minute drill (led by Winston)
  • Ian Book during by two minute drill went 5/5

Plays:

  • Jameis Winston threw a 50 yard bomb to Easop Winston 
  • Zack Baun with two back-to-back plays blowing up short yardage situations, one tackle for a loss
  • Jake Lampman with a touchdown catch from Siemian 
  • Winston found Stevie Scott for a touchdown during red zone drills
  • Paulson Adebo had a near interception off of Winston during 11 on 11

One on ones:

  • Chris Hogan vs Adebo, Adebo won with tight coverage 
  • Easop Winston beat Grant Haley for a touchdown 
  • Ken Crawley had a pass break up on Hogan
  • Easop Winston burnt Poole for a touchdown 
  • Callaway vs Lattimore, resulted in a touchdown and great throw from Hill
  • Kawaan Baker vs Ceedy, Baker scored a touchdown (throw from Hill)
  • Kawaan Baker vs Adebo, touchdown for Baker
  • Easop Winston had a touchdown vs Grant Haley again 
  • Adebo vs Humphrey, pass break up 
  • One play Ceedy was a quarterback, Hogan was wide receiver and Callaway was corner and resulted in a touchdown 
  • Easop Winston went 3/3 and scored on all of them (Hill, Winston, Book)
