Saints Training Camp Day 7 Notes and more

Attendance: 

  • Kwon was at practice 
  • Deonte Harris is back after missing yesterday 
  • Grant Haley returned after missing the first week due to personal reasons 
  • No Tre’Quan (wrist), Ethan Wolf (ankle), or Nick Vannett 
  • Vet day off for Kamara, Terron, Cam, Peat, Lattimore 

Updates:

  • Kwon Alexander is back in number 58
  • Shaq Smith is number 46 now 
  • Saints released defensive end Kendall Donnerson to sign Kwon

Notes:

  • Taysom Hill took starting reps
  • Landon Young getting reps at left guard 
  • Blake Gillikin was booming punts
  • Paulson Adebo got reps at right corner during 7 on 7’s
  • Tommylee Lewis and Kawaan Baker each beat Adonis Alexander on deep balls
  • Ringo blew up a screen to Freeman 
  • Defense is having another dominant day
  • Davenport beat James Hurst and sacked Taysom Hill twice
  • Davenport had four total sacks 
  • Average day for Taysom and Jameis
  • Amukamara had an overall solid day  

Observations:

  • Kwon had no pads on, was doing conditioning work off to the side
  • Grant Haley joined Kwon in conditioning off to the side
  • Ringo is getting some reps with the first team defense 
  • Stevie Scott and Latavius Murray are similar runners 
  • Players working on punt returns include Deonte Harris, Ceedy, Easop Winston, Jalen McCleskey, Ty Montgomery, Tommylee Lewis, and Marquez Callaway 

Plays:

  • Christian Ringo had some run stuffs 
  • Zack Baun had a tackle for loss
  • Baun almost picked Winston off
  • Taysom hit Callaway on a back shoulder throw
  • Ringo had a sack 
  • Ceedy almost had a pick but Callaway ripped it out 
  • Prince Amukamara with a nice strip on Jake Lampman
  • Taysom throws first pick of camp to Demario Davis and the tip from Patrick Robinson intended for Callaway
