Training Camp Day 1 Notes

Saints football has hit the ground running with their first day of training camp today. The quarterback battle between Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill has started. The competition around the team at linebacker has started. Saints football is back. 

Today was an indoor practice and closed off to the media until after practice had ended. Tomorrow’s practice will be open to the media and there will be live updates, but here’s updates and notes from today’s training camp. 

-Taysom took first team reps 

-Jameis and Taysom will rotate first team reps

-Jameis looked like the sharpest quarterback 

-Jameis connected a perfectly timed deep ball to Deonte Harris during 5-5

-Patrick Robinson took reps at cornerback 2 (other outside corner)

-Starting LB’s were Demario Davis,  Zack Baun, and Kaden Elliss with Pete Werner rotating with Baun at Will

-Former Saints OL Jerome Bushrod and DB Sterling Moore are working as intern coaches 

-Grant Haley was the only absent player due to the passing of his father 

-Marcus Davenport was starting opposite of Cam Jordan

-Shy Tuttle was getting reps with the first team
