Interview with Saints UDFA Lawrence Woods

I had the opportunity to talk with Saints UDFA Lawrence Woods about his game and approaches for the offseason/season. For a full review of the signing of Lawrence Woods click here

How did Covid-19 affect your approach going into the NFL?

“Summer of 2020 I had some optimism that we would play in the fall. I’d seen other schools playing and taking the necessary precautions so they could have a season. As the fall approached and no mandatory practice was happening, I felt like the season was going to be canceled. It was canceled but I knew what I wanted to achieve with my football talents.”

What do you believe is your biggest contribution to an NFL roster?

“My versatility to play a lot of positions good such as Kick Returner, Punt Returner, Gunner & Nickel.”

How will your approach to play in the NFL differ from getting ready to play college football?

“Mentally I’ll have to be more prepared. Being able to learn more from watching the 1’s & 2’s rep and going out and executing the same plan.”

Is there a player on the Saints you are excited to play alongside with?

“Michael Thomas.”

Is there a specific number you’re wanting to wear?

“#2 was my first number when I started playing football but it looks a little occupied. I’d take my college number 8 again if possible.”

What’s one thing you want Saints fans to know about either your work ethic or style of play?

“I’m hungry and I’m ready to fill my role on the team !!”
