The Saints reportedly called about Teddy Bridgewater

The wide receiver position isn’t the only position the Saints called about before the trade deadline. With the recent season ending injury to quarterback Jameis Winston, the Saints were reported to have called the Broncos about quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, per Benjamin Allbright in the Allbright podcast. However, the Broncos told the Saints that “He’s our quarterback”.

Bridgewater, who started five games for the Saints in 2019, and went 5-0 is currently the starter for the 4-4 Denver Broncos. After his career took a role due to injuries, the career of Teddy Bridgewater revamped under Sean Payton and got him a contract and a starting job with the Carolina Panthers in 2020.

Bridgewater in his five starts in 2019 for the Saints 1,384 yards with 9 touchdowns and two interceptions, while starting the final game in the 2018 season. He went 5-1 as an overall starter for the Saints from 2018-2019.
