A look at Marshon Lattimore’s matchup vs Terry McLaurin

Sunday’s matchup was the first matchup between former teammates Marshon Lattimore and Terry McLaurin who both attended Ohio State.

McLaurin had been one of the best receivers this season in the league while Lattimore one of the best if not the best corner this season. It was a matchup that a lot of viewers were excited to watch. And it held up to its expectations, well at least if you were a Saints fan.

McLaurin overall was targeted 11 times, caught 4 passes for 46 yards. Not all of those passes were when Lattimore was in coverage.

Lattimore had 1 tackle, but 6 pass break ups while being targeted 9 times and allowing 2 receptions. On those 2 receptions he allowed 31 yards with -1 yards after the catch. Not only has he been solid in coverage but if someone does make a catch on him then he’s probably gonna secure the tackle.

His 6 pass break ups is tied for the most in a game since 2017.

Lattimore mentioned he should’ve had a few interceptions but due to his cast he couldn’t catch the ball. He had surgery on his hand after week one and has been in a cast since.
