Notes and observations from day 3 of training camp

Day three of training camp is in the books and there were a lot of positives. Players stepped up, like Ken Crawley who took reps at cornerback two today. Taysom had himself an excellent day, while others had a bit of a rough day. Here are notes and observations from today.

Notes:

-Jameis Winston took first team reps today

-Jameis had a rough day, went 1-4 on a series

-Cesar Ruiz had an excellent day 

-Taysom Hill had a good day

-Ken Crawley stood out, had a few pass break ups and an almost near pick

-Blake Gillikin had punt duty, really good consistent punts

-Zack Baun was back with the starting defense 

-James Hurst rotated with Ryan Ramczyk for first team reps

-No Tommylee Lewis, Patrick Robinson, Grant Haley, or Dylan Soehner 

-First padded practice is Tuesday

-Ty Montgomery appears to only be a wide receiver at the time

Observations:

-Taysom Hill threw a beautiful back shoulder ball to Marquez Callaway against Paulson Adebo (coverage was good)

-Ken Crawley nearly picked off Taysom Hill going against Tre’Quan Smith

-Nick Vannett had a rough day with two false starts and a fumble

-Taysom Hill hit Lil’Jordan Humphrey on a crossing route 20 yards downfield, perfect throw

-Jake Lampman made a nice catch from Ian Book during one on ones against Brian Poole

-Winston threw a beautiful pass to -Tre’Quan Smith which was caught, but Crawley pushed him out before he could get two feet (great coverage)

-Deonte Harris ran a stop and go on CGJ, and Winston delivered the ball into the end zone

-Marshon Lattimore blanketed Marquez Callaway during one on ones and had a nice pass break up

-Taysom Hill threw a beauty of a pass to Easop Winston 

-Ty Montgomery beat Adebo in one on ones with tight coverage but made a better adjustment
